Can imagine. Hospital not taking responsibility? By the sound of it, they should be.

Yeah, it's been a horrorshow following your recent emails. I really feel awful about your situation, and as much as I can hope things will get sorted, I know it's not all a rosey outcome.
Fucked up. :\

(Also, apologies to anyone who thinks I should've been posting about all this, but I didn't feel it was my place to do so!)

That's all so fucked up. And people here criticize the NHS...

Short of sending virtual hugs to you both there's not a lot I can do from here, but I really hope that you finally catch a break.

It's great to hear from you, but daaaaaaaamn!!

Thing with the NHS, it's available to anyone, free of charge. No wonder it's ropey.

But if you're specifically paying for medical cover and THAT lets you down due to some bullshit get-out-of-jail-free clause, that just fucking stinks. It's organised fraud.

You may want to see a debt counselor. They can usually help you work out affordable payment plans and can often have your debt reduced. Many times, the creditors wont even bother submitting a credit report against you when they see you are making an effort to pay. In the event it does go to court, a show of good faith goes a long way in your favor.

You can still see a lawyer for the insurance. Should a judge rule in your favor, the insurance company would be required to refund any covered expenses you already paid.

Blimey... Horrendous time well and truely there... Hope it all unravels to the best it can possibly be!

And yeah, the NHS, it's a rickety service, but it trundles along, we dont get everything free, yeah, we get to see GP's, go to A&E, get broken bones mended, surgery and all that...

But once your in the realms of meds, and your working, prescriptions can sky rocket... Unless you live in Scotland, their NHS is more truly free then anywhere else in the UK... Which is wrong!

I'm not normally one for preaching (or practising) common sense, but, probably don't want to end up in prison on top of everything else.

Don't let the fuckers grind you down.

Sedation is sort of prerequisite for surgery, isn't it?

It's not like it's an optional extra.
