Tip of the Century. Type ’’cmd’’ into the address bar of a Windows Explorer folder view to open Command Prompt directly in that folder.

I never knew that.

Furthermore, the shortcut Alt+D will focus the address bar, so you can open the command prompt from Explorer without ever needing to touch the mouse!

It constantly amazes me how Microsoft continue to add features, but tell nobody!!!!!
We have to work this shit out.

Once upon a time, we'd get a great big manual. I want that back!!!

I still have a windows 3.1 manual somewhere around the house. Probably next to my early 80's Usborne Computer Handbook.

Hey, Win3.1 and 95 are runable in dosbox on my win10 pc ^^;

But typing CMD in the Address bar is new to me too. What happens if you write it in the Edge's address bar ? ;o)

Edge?

Surely the only reason to use Edge is to download a good browser?

I'm using SrWare iron here.

Mentioned Edge, because it is from Microsoft. But the joke, which needs explaining is not a joke

When coding new SoCoder and new AGameAWeek, I actually found Edge invaluable.
It whinged about fucking everything!!!!

... it doesn’t actually then follow the many html/css/javascript rules it complains about, but at least it's great for finding the issues!!

IIRC you can Shift+Right Click a folder to get more options (like "open command window here") from Windows 7. Everyone probably knows that one though!

Yeah, but by the time I'm in a folder, that's no good!
I'm far too lazy to go up to the parent, right click the folder, then go back into the folder again!!
That's, like, 4 clicks!!!

Either that or daring to hit the Backspace key to go up a folder, which doesn't always go up a folder, because some idiot at Microsoft decided to make it go "Back" instead of "Up"

I know right! You can shift right click the folder you are in to do it, but ONLY if there aren't enough files to fill the window so that there is space to do it in. Typing CMD is gonna be way easier so thanks haha
