I read that anything less than 55" for a 4K tv is pointless, as it's no better than a normal HD tv.

Dunno.

The current downstairs telly is Classic Freeview, and won't even do Freeview HD channels.
I've been wanting to upgrade it for a while, and although we "could" technically fit a larger screen there, Mum's not happy with the idea of having a giant wall of screen!!
But the upgrade to full Freeview HD, along with the inbuilt "smart" connectivity means (hopefully) it's worth the upgrade.

Plus the old TV has already been claimed by a family member, so it's already got a home once they figure out a way to get it there!

"Free Next Day Delivery : Tuesday"
... That's not the next day, Amazon!!!

I just ordered another msi laptop 8gb ddr4 - 128 gb m.2 ssd, 1050ti, i7-7700hq - 1tb hdd. I was pretty impressed with the price. Only the sdd was a little bit to small for my liking. But the i7 and 1050ti were a plus.

Done with the crazy spending for the next 6 months. (city/energy Taxes next year)

That's about the same spec I was toying with... pretty much identical in fact.

Where from? How much?

From a store in Rotterdam I think they are. (alternate.nl) I usually get my things from there. It might also be a international store though.

I payed 850 euro. That should be 757 gbp.

6 months ago I ordered a msi there also for the same price but it had a i5 and no ssd and only a 1050. It then did come with a logitech g502 mouse.

Jesus... looking at £1100 for that spec here.

It was discounted to 850E from 1200 euro's here for the next couple of days. Other stores I checked this friday did not come close to this price.

I'd snap it up for £757.

|edit| Found that spec for £979 (MSI GL72 7REX). Very tempt... still a bit out of my range though.

I could not resist either. I checked at midnight and then went to bed, the ssd was to small initially for my taste, but kept thinking about the laptop. Even dreamt about it.

I already bought 3 laptops this year, so it was not that I really needed another one.

Just got the "Dispatched" email.
It's still not arriving until Tuesday, though.

.. Is it walking!?

Amazon Prime's Next Day Delivery is usually literally the next day. Even Sundays...
I was expecting "A couple of days since they'd need to get all the stock in", but ... It says it's already been dispatched, so.. !?!?!
*shrugs*

Anyhoo, it said "Next Day : Tuesday" (as odd as that was) when I ordered it, so no biggy.

Over here in the news they said there was a shortage of delivery drivers. Maybe in gb also, so they spread it out?

I got the trace code for the two things I ordered. It wil be here at midday. Black friday is rather new over here. Only got here in 2015.

My stephfathers birthday is on monday. I ordered one of those hair shaving things(tondeuse) for him. He wanted ajax drinking glasses, but he keeps borrowing my shaver, so

Fuck Sake..

Seriously, FUCK SAKE...

Got an email at 5am saying "TV Delivery expected Monday", as opposed to Tuesday.
8am "TV En Route!"
Woot!
..

...

....

At 17:00, I got ANOTHER email saying it's En Route.

At 20:15 it turned up.

Now Mum's in the middle of her "78 hours of Soaps on a Monday Night" session, so .. That ain't happening..

Just leave it in the box til morning, and pretend that's when it arrived.

Alternatively, take TV out of box, stuff mum in empty box, set new TV up.

Telly's up and running.
Remote has a Netflix and a YouTube button, which is nice.
Maybe Mum might switch from 24/7 Corrie, and start watching something more interesting!?!

FreeviewPlay is handy. Bring up the TV guide, flick to whatever it was you missed, and click Play. Job done, assuming the program's available from that channel's App, anyway.

Spent the past hour or so having to log in to all the different apps' accounts.. BBC, ITV, All4, UKTVPlay, Netflix and YouTube. There's now about 100 "Lost my password" emails in my inbox!

Quality wise, looks gorgeous. Shame that our 1970s TV Aerial isn't picking up the HD channels. Grrr...
But watching 4K videos through YouTube/Netflix is lovely!

Next up, getting all my tech to show up.

Wasn’t expecting that!!!
If you switch to the AppleTV, the TVs remote's Media/Cursor button presses get sent to the Apple TV!! No need for a second remote, now!! Kick ass!!!!

Very happy with this telly, I must say

Hmmm...
HDMI connector is right next to the Aerial connector. If you turn on the AppleTV, the Freeview signal drops by a bucketload.
Need to find a way around that. No matter which of the HDMI ports I use, the wires seem to overlap.
Have ordered a One For All Signal booster thing in the hope that that solves it..
... hmmm...

Media player sucks donkey balls.
Can’t even cope with a plain mp4...
Aw well, that’s what the AppleTVs there for.
