MP4 should be a decent compression. Set the quality to about 75% and it should be a fair bit smaller. (Assuming it's currently higher than that!)
Also, the resolution is a factor.
I’m assuming QuadDef? That’ll be heuuuuuge!!
Maybe reduce to 1080p? I mean, unless you want to show off the quaddef, of course, but then.. that’ll be the reason the file size is high!!

Play with Quality, and you should find a nice middle ground.

Decided to check what format iPhone QuadDef* records in.
.mov file, and HOLY HELL.. 610Mb for a 1m50s video of Mum opening a box of flowers.
FFS!!

(*If anyone can explain why 4K is called 4K, and what part of it is meant to be 4,000, then I'll happily call it that.)

I'm currently having a pisser with my internet, it keeps on dropping, resetting, and all sorts of shite, I should be getting, what, at least 50+ KiB/s, hitting 13, then its pausing for a bit, then loses connection, the status box in Filezilla is like watching the footy scores coming in...

Getting annoyed! *humph*

I'm on BT (FTTC - but the cabinet is 2km away) and whenever I'm uploading anything you can forget any data that wants to go the other way - its like being back on dialup. Whole thing just chokes.

Worst thing about living at the arse end of nowhere.

Died on 10mb after a steady 20KiB/s run, restarted, rocketed to 111 KiB/s for a bit, then gradually going less, died, restarted, less, dies, restarted, now sitting at 9 KiB/s, the time left may as well tell me if I'll see this uploaded before my 50th birthday!

EDIT: Oh, its back up to 108... Honestly... PAP!!!

Copy the video to a flash drive, strap it to the Drone, then fly it to YouTube.

I used to use VirtualDub BITD for lowering filesizes, but keeping image/sound quality.

I don't know how good it is nowadays, especially compared to other programs, but it is free and open source - http://www.virtualdub.org/

I gave up trying to use VDub when I started using mp4 for video.
Last I tried it, it was awful at that format.

Give your ISP a call Mike, have a right 2&8 with them!

I did that with VM once, I bagged myself a month off my billing in doing so.

They say the camera adds a few pounds, but Jesus, I look like I’ve swallowed a whole hippo and not even bothered to chew, and my Siamese chin... blimey... where did that come from?

I do eat shit like, looks like I’ll have to cut down on the crap a little,

Awesome!!!

Camera spin was a little quick, though. Can you tone the sensitivity on the controller, at all, or is it just a case of gentler-thumbs?

That was alright, that was.

As Jay mentioned, the spin was a bit too quick - too much of that and I'd have been hurling!

The one that looks like Raul Moat, he's my younger brother, the lanky one, he's the lad who's mam passed away the other month... Overall, aye... It was like The Wrong Turn out there!

So I had a play with it, yes, really cool, I still dont know how it all works properly yet, I can get it to go up, left right etc, and record video, but most of the features, I havent delved into too much.

Couple of hairy moments though...

First, When I was setting it up, the quick start guide that comes in the box, you may as well make roll up ciggies with it, useless, so, after reading guff in the docs provided online, it twinkling like a sodding Christmas tree trying to understand what the twinkles meant, then downloading the app, updating its firmware (3 times, 3 different versions eg stock firmware->1.13->1.14-1.15) as it wont fly with outdated firmware, pairing everything, I managed to get it all settled and it was nicely flashing green, and a little "Ready To Fly" message was sitting there on the screen of my phone... Now, bare in mind, Derek was sitting on the table as I clicked that message, the camera came on my screen, lovely... clicked the "Take Off" button... Little slider comes on, push it right to take off... Which I did... And... VOOOSH, rotors kicked in and he was up in the air like a lunatic, stuff blowing
everywhere with the down draft, it was like the courthouse scene in Ghostbusters 2, I was like "FOOOOOKKKKIIINNNNNGGGGG HELLLLLLL" while nearly shatting myself!

And then the Return To Home feature... I took off from the yard like in the video, had a fly around the street, a bit of battery was used for setup and general tomfartery, just getting my wings, battery level low warning comes on, me thinking it'll be alright... Whizzing about... And then "Returning To Home" message blurted out, VOOOSH, it was a billion foot in the air, me wiggling the controls trying to get it down, then it starts moving itself across the street... I'm fretting now... Over the fucking house he went, stopped above the back yard, then its starts to lower itself, and then it dawned on me, the GPS isnt pinpoint, it's a little off, not much, couple of metres, I know this, cos the little sod landed itself on the bastard outhouse roof!!!

Ladders required for retrieval... The little shit!

Always learning!

I wanted to get him out tonight, but the weather is shite, so the pair of us have had to stop in... But when the weather breaks, bosh, we'll be out! \o/ yay
