shroom_monk	I asked briefly on the chat a while ago, but then got an answer from a friend who did this before and said it worked. Basically, I wanted to back up my save data from Command & Conquer and C&C Red Alert. I was able to get most of the files from the game folders of both onto a memory stick (didn't have room for everything, so I didn't take what didn't look important). According to my friend, all I then needed to do was copy the files across having reinstalled the games, but before opening them for the first time. By skipping everything, it would only copy across the save data file(s). However, this didn't work. So, I was wondering, does anyone here know how to get my save data back? If I've missed a file when backing up (cos it's now all overwritten with the OS reinstall), then fine, but am I simply doing something wrong? Incidently, this is a 'First Decade' install, not a separate install of all the games. Thanks. -=-=- A mushroom a day keeps the doctor away... Keep It Simple, Shroom!

JL235	That's pretty much it, but if you need profiles for C&C (although if I remember correctly you don't) then you could try making new profiles all setup the same and then copy the saves across again. You could also try saving games with the same names and copying the saves across onto them. If all else fails and your desperate, you can find save file for various games online.

shroom_monk	C&C1 and Red Alert don't need profiles. The trouble is, I'm not quite sure which file(s) contain(s) the save data, so I can't copy it across to files with similar names... -=-=- A mushroom a day keeps the doctor away... Keep It Simple, Shroom!

Teasy	In C&C1 (on PC in 1994) each savegame is a single file with the format "SAVEGAME.???" which is simply sequential starting at "000". I usually just extract them from a backup savegame archive straight into the game folder (Heck, I'm still listening to 'Act on instinct' at the moment lol)
