Ataribox Reveal

So, here it is then --> www.funstockretro.co.uk/news/ataribox-atari-reveal-their-newest-console/

I like the woodgrain version, that's pretty nice. But It has that android-box suspciousness about it.

Fingers crossed it'll be awesome though.

It's an ugly-looking bugger, init?

The woodgrain one is woodgrain.
That makes it instantly better looking than any other current-gen console, even the Switch!

It's fucking ugly and no amount of glossy renders will make it anything but. It'll be a dust magnet and impossible to keep clean (although it'll just be stuffed back in its box and stuck in the loft pretty sharpish). It's sell like hotcakes, but be on life-support for a few months then forgotten.

Imagine if it was just like the OUYA, but backed by Atari..
Imagine if it was that easy to code for, and you could do a nice big version of Sensitive, but have it played by an actual audience, this time!!!

....

I really hope I can Monkey it!

I'm pretty sure it will be EXACTLY like OUYA. Only worse.

|edit| BTW I really liked the OUYA, despite its many faults.

Indeed.
Got this in my "another sodding OUYA game approved" email, this week.

Focusing on mobile isn't a bad thing, just don't forget about android all together.

TeamOUYA might not be much of a Team anymore, but they give a crap

Why the fuck sell a $300 Linux micro with an "Ataribox" client pre-installed but also lets you use Steam or whatever? Why not just let me download an "Ataribox" client to my own buggering PC what I already cunting well have?
If this thing had been an AndroidTV or suchlike I may have given it a go, but this is just stupid.

All the raw, animal magnetism of a rutabaga.

Jayenkai and wtf is with the crowdfunding?!

I won't be backing this one either, I saw what happened with the ZX Vega Plus saga. I only pay for products that are actually released.
