Lone Echo...

Well, I've managed to play it today, and well, what can I say...

Ready At Dawn have done a brilliant job, and it's with games like this, VR really shines mind!

The use of the Touch controllers as virtual hands is really well done, and you do use your hands a lot in this game, and they've managed to get if off to a tee I reckon.

I'll not divulge too much in regards to ingame stuff, as I dont want to spoil it for people, but if you've ever wondered what its like to chuck yourself around a space station in zero gravity by grabbing stuff, then pushing yourself away to float over to somewhere else, well, they've cracked it with this... The mechanics of it all is beautiful, you do get some little boosters to tweak your floating about shenanigans, but after a bit, grabbing, pushing etc becomes second nature and before you know it your manoeuvring around the joint like a chimp in a tree, and the boosters are forgotten!

The immersion factor is magic, like I said, its a game based on hands, and, your VR hands are equipped with gadgets, you press little buttons on them to activate stuff like a scanner or a laser thing, or look up objectives... And it does it in such a way that, you would really think that they were your hands!

What does it as well as well, and I know this is only the finer details, but it does matter... But a lot of VR games use just floating virtual hands, chopped off the wrist, but in Lone Echo, they've managed to replicate arm movements too, so when you move your hand in such a way, say, like a right hook pose, the ingame VR player arm will copy it!

Okay, it's not 100% perfect, and there's the odd glitch, but, it's few and far between.

I've currently done a few things in there, basically just the getting to know your gear setup, off outside the space station next, see what happens there.

So far though, I'm very impressed, I'm off back to Saturn after a coffee... Chow!!!

I've been eyeing Lone Echo for awhile now, I've got the multiplayer version Echo Arena but no-one seems to be on when I can play...

Have you tried the free ISS game/ demo? The movement in there is similar to LE.

Oh and if you didn't see Skyrim is out for PSVR...

lol, well, at the start of LE, you have to chuck one of them disks... I did, and nearly slung the touch controller at the tele... I'll have to add Arena to my library like!

My username is Dabzy1978 on Oculus, add me, and when/if we're both online, I'll give you a game!
