Socoder -> Concept/Design -> Untitled Collection

Christmas is coming, and I usually like to do something daily over the course of either advent or the 12 days of Xmas.
This year I'm planning ahead, and considering doing a big advent collection, but I'm also considering that if I make it specifically "an advent calendar" then that's exactly what it will stay like.
Instead, I'm thinking of making some kind of odd minigame collection with 24 little games in it.

If I'm to release it on iOS in time for Advent, though, I'm going to have to get 24 little games written and finished within the next month or so, a week ahead of Dec 1st.
Yikes!!

I've started by creating a little half complete list of possible game titles..
My last advent calendar had rhyming pairs as titles, so there were things like Ball Wall, Same Game and of course, Spike Dislike..
This time, I figured I'd switch to the other side of the words, so each game gets a title with all words starting with the same letter.. (alliteration!!!)

The first ones that spring to mind is Midnight Minefield, where you'd try to guide a character through a minefield, or Dice Dares which would be some sort of Yahtzee-alike.

With that in mind, I guess I'm making 26 games, then....

So.. Yeah... I guess that's my next big project, and I'm going to have to start that some time soon..
Going to have to build a nice bulky system to keep hold of it all, and allow you to flip between games and such.

Urgh... Why do I have to keep giving myself these stupid tasks?!

Still haven't given the collection a title, yet..

But I have at least started to code a nice frontend for it.
An unimaginative little screen full of icons. Tap an icon to bring up it's titlescreen, and either play it, or return to the menu.
All works nicely, and typically swooshy.

Note also that there's a "Today's Game" marked.
During the first 25 days of each month, Today's Game will be the associated game, (top left = 1, bottom right = 25) with any other extra days being simply randomly selected games, instead.
Basically it means I can leave everything "unlocked", and simply allow folk to play as they wish, but with a specific game highlighted for that day.
Seems the most fair method of doing it, anyway..

For you to make 28 games in just 10 months is Amazing Motivation on what you have!

Well Done

Indeed! It's going to be a struggle trying to make 25 games, each with keyboard, mouse, touchscreen AND Gamepad support!!! But.. So far so good!!

.. Or at least, the menu works, anyway

Still haven't given this collection a title, yet. That's annoying..

Currently top-of-the-list word is "compendium", like those old boxes of shit games you used to get at Xmas. But "AGameAWeek Compendium" sounds silly, and "The Jayenkai Compendium" is a bit too... Um.. Meh..
Platdude's Compendium might work, I suppose...
*shrugs*

You'll have success with that.
Hopefully something inspires you

Would Retrocade do?.

At one point I was going to make a collection called "Platdude's iCade Collection", but I've gone far beyond the limits of iCade, now!

Retrocade sounds a bit too much like the word Retrograde, and that has negative connotations, in my mind.

"Compendium" to me, was always that box of crappy little boardgames that your parents always bought at Xmas. The one that could technically play about 16 different games, but that you only ever played draughts, lost half the pieces for Chinese Checkers, and never quite figured out how the hell Backgammon was supposed to be played!

I love Backgammon... I think there's only two other people on the planet that can play it though
