rockford	Actually, it could be quite a shewd move. They may have sole rights for all things Minecraft, including merch, sequels, spin-offs, media, DLC, imagery etc. etc. They could (and will) milk the franchise for billions. It also makes them seem cool and will likely sell extra hardware as a result (Minecraft 2 only on XBone? - Little Johnny will be begging Mummy for XBone come birthday or Xmas).

spinal	I'd think anyone would sell out for $2.5b, the fact that his great great great great great grandkids won't have to work a day in their lives might be what tipped it. I never really got the idea of minecraft. I watched it start, never understood what made it a 'game'. It always seems to me just like a coding experiment that too many people liked, like rag-doll physics engines. But good for him. -=-=- Check out my excellent homepage!
