Do any socoders have any experience coding vista sidebar widgets?

Doesn't look like it! Do they even work on anything other than Vista? I hate how Microsoft CONSTANTLY change how things like that work. I'm amazed that my Blitz2D games still even work, anymore!

They mostly work on w7 and *can* work on 8/10, with a little coaxing. I'm in the (low) process of imitating some of the more useful live tiles so I can have them in my sidebar -- Microsoft, why the hell is this not an option!?!? -- anyway, I have the weather tile mostly working, just need to add a settings page so that my location isn't hard coded, but the snag is that the sidebar software seems to use a way old version of ie, so my nice 3d cube transition isn't fully supported and looks a bit crap.

The only widgets I know about are the ones you would find in a can of bitter.

Turning off widgets and other crap is what I do best. I think M$ leaves them all on so that users learn the OS by turning them off!
