Yeah, kinda works.
Not quite as glitchy as I was aiming for, but realistically I can't add much more glitchiness without it becoming unplayable!! (Or at least, to me, anyway!)

Amazing just how productive I can be, when the right set of ideas merge together.
Already done..
1. Engine
2. 9 games
3. Sound effects
4. Music
5. Screenshots, Icons and other "Icon Builder" related things.
6. Approximate balancing so that you earn roughly about the same 60-odd points per game, but scores are still nice and varied.

The game is absolutely 100% playable in its current form.
.. And it's only bloomin' Thursday!

Fri/Sat/Sun will be spent trying to come up with new games to add to the collection.
Hopefully I can do that!!! I'm already running out of ideas.

.. but definitely starting to come up with ideas that "feel" different.

Sure, I could do a WarioWare and reskin simple ideas, but.. nah.. trying to make each game unique enough to be worth playing.

I'm also now wondering if I should add a "play one game over and over again" mode.. hmmm..

Rejigged the menu system to allow for specific game selections, to play in a "Repeat the same game over and over until dead" mode like in WarioWare.

Local Highscores are integrated well, but took a LOT of tweaking to get right..
Will the Online highscores be similarly workable!?!
That's my next task.

Released the game..

... Bit of a surprise, even to me, but implementing online scoreboards for all the individual minigames meant having 14 scoreboards! (+ 3 more for the main game modes!)

So, um.. I looked at that, and went "Yeah, that's probably enough for my scoreboard system to cope with!"

Hmm..
If I attempt a Read Error B, I'm going to have to plan an interesting way to do highscores, first, I reckon.

This week's game is a redux of one of the Read Error A games, "Flap Across"
I've added a bunch of gameplay tweaks, and it's actually turned out rather nicely, which isn't bad considering I've also been recoding SoCoder!!

A few tweaks and it'll be ready for release.
Maybe tonight?!

It's been one heck of a struggle trying to turn "Tanks on a Planet" into some kind of playable game.
You might've noticed I've done no Socoder2 work, this weekend, as I've instead been desperately trying to find a game, here!

I *think* it's a fun playable game, now!


But it still needs a lot of artsy fixups before it's a finished game.

OK, got the player movement in, the "Well, it DOES need bombs!" bombs in, and the 4-buttons thing working.
Next up, adding a bucketload of Mummies!!!
This game is essentially a remake of sorts of Greenie - The Eccentric Egyptologist, which in turn is a remake of sorts of Oh Mummy, but the game is now AGameAWeek-ified, and has been rejigged into something different.

Hopefully the Mummy AI makes for a nice playable game, because .. right now it's actually quite dull!!

In the spirit of "Greenie - The Eccentric Egyptologist", this is a similar mashup between Bomberman, and the 8-bit classic Oh Mummy.

Disco Bert And The Curse Of The Evil Mummies

Run around the boxes to unlock them, and try to find the key to allow you to exit the level.
Watch out for the Mummies!!!

Started this week's game. I have a game idea in mind, but I'm not 100% sure that I can get a level generator to work within the rules of the game, so that's what I'm starting with.
If it doesn't work out, I can scrap it without having gotten to far into the art style.

Anyhoo, here's a rough peek at what the level generator's doing!!

Feel free to nab the idea for a future Gameboy/NES project, and add all manner of enhancements.. It's a simple enough grid-based game, so should be nice and easy to replicate.
