The world around us is, quite frankly, fucked.

In a bid to cheer myself up, and avoid watching the depressing news reports, I've been watching a lot of old Red Dwarf episodes, all week.
What's your preferred method to cheer up?

Well, here's something to be pleased about - clones of Spike Dislike. Imitation, after all, is the sincerest form of flattery.

Maybe. Or not.

As for me, I'm only down when I'm at work (not really, I do enjoy my job, most of the time)

6 years since the original.. I'm surprised there's not a bazillion clones of my most popular game.
.. oh, it's because it isn't popular..

...

...... that's not cheered me up!!!!

Just because something doesn't appear popular, doesn't mean it's not well liked by those that have played it.

If someone went to the trouble of cloning your game, that means that they really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I've grown quite fond of Spike over the years, enough that he's now ranking above even Greenie in my list of favourite characters I've created!
The next SD game is currently in the "fermenting ideas in my head" stage of development.

... but that's off-topic!
What cheers you up??

Two things that cheer me up..
1. Coding completely frivolous things that have no real purpose. See Flowers http://socoder.net/?snippet=57803
2. Composing completely frivolous pieces of music that have no real purpose. See CHOON https://soundcloud.com/alodare/journal-days

What cheers me up? Hugs. Hugs make everything better, 100%

Chatting with my kids, particularly my lil girl, she says the weirdest things for a 3 year old and is all good!

Finishing off making something. Anything really but mainly code as that's what I'm doing mainly nowadays.

If there's nowt else to do I'll snuggle up on the sofa watching some anime with some anime, yay!

Web / Game Dev, occasionally finishes off coding games also!

Yeah, to be fair, there are loads of things that cheer me up - no one of them works in every situation though. eg while I sometimes do have spare time, I may not actually feel like coding or playing a game, but instead might want to walk my dogs or watch tv, read a book etc.

Not watching and not reading the news definitely helps in keeping a cheerful mood. Playing games and reading comics helps to cheer me up.

My preferred method is to be creative. Write text or code, paint or draw. It tends to help.

Code, read, exercise, skating, gaming and a bit more coding.

The news does generally blow goats these days.

Netflix is good for escapism, right, I'm off for a bike ride

Twitter seems a cheerier place, this morning.

Seems everyone's in the same boat, of just trying to ignore the fact that the world's about to end.
I'm glad of that..

Keep calm,

Weetabix is the answer, or maybe a hot curry.
