DSnapped!

last night, when I opened up my ds, the damn corner snapped off!! Same problem as a lot of white ds's, apparently the plastic is crap, even I can tell, the size of the hinge compared to how much pressure is put on it really is stupid. The thing should be re-enforced with a slice of metal or something.

Luckily I kept my old black ds which I killed horribly when attempting a case change on it, so I was able to replace the snapped part, and with my black ds being a lot older, the hinge wasn't as stiff, so I swapped that over too, so this one shouldn't crack and snap off.

So it now looks slightly silly, it would have looked good, but I didn't think when putting it back together and reused the white 'led part' instead of the black one, so one side of the hinge is the wrong colour.

My "Superglue kinda works" White DS is back together-ish, but keep an eye on the rest of the hinge.
The bottom of the center-piece on mine is starting to go, too, as is the L-trigger side.
Pretty messed up, really.

So, the Black's better quality plastic then?

from what I could find on the new, the cracking problem is far more common in lighter colours. But if you have a look at how much plastic is actually holding it on, you see that the design is crap to start with, the led's should be places somewhere else and there should be a solid piece of plastic in that corner.
