Doomed Planet! - Created by blanko1324 (Rating 100%)

...has NOT been rejected!
Created using Blitz > WindowsView Worklog (0 entries)
Final (requires Xbox360 controller)
Final (requires keyboard)
Here it is! The moment you've been waiting for!

This is what I shall be sending into Gamma256's Resolutions Challenge. I'm proud of how it looks, very content with how it plays, but disgusted with how it's coded. Seriously, it's horrid.

And I promise that if I do make it to Canada for the shindig, that I will represent this site with pride.

I love it. What are the chances of you doing a DS version (the screen is slightly shorter (256*192), would be loads of fun!

Chances of me doing a DS version are slim to none. Well...I'll think about it.

blanko,

why does this Doomed Planet require
an XBOX 360 controller??
Couldn't you code using the mouse, keys and other
controls for use to play on the PC computer.
Thats too bad, cause it does look good
but I cannot play it.
oh wellllll.....

later.

The controller was a requirement of the competition.

I didn't know that.
Blanko could've (not should've) but could've told me
himself.

Yet, I don't like the style nor play and feel
of both the PS2 and XBOX 360 controllers.
oh well....I'm old fashioned for the Atari 2600
joystick, the Nintendo and Super Nes Game pads,
and even the PS1 controllers too.

Still too bad that I can't try it out.

I really want to try this out, but I don't have an Xbox360 controller. I don't even own a regular game pad. But making a keyboard version can't be very hard, right?

Nice one blanko Reminds me a bit of Destroy all humans!
I love the retro style and 'silent movie' effects too.

Good luck with it in the comp

I watched the video, it looks fun. But too bad, I don't have a Xbox360 controller either. Can you make a keyboard-controlled game too? Can't be that hard, can it?

Korean gamers love Doomed Planet!

Google says, "UFO and abduction of civilians in the game. Spacebar manipulate the keyboard arrow keys. Not surprisingly decent game, but participated in separation. UFO. UFO distinctive movement reminds you alive and well, and the graphics rendering is very unique. The United States, like the classic black-and-white film, screen films, such as creating a put, the kidnapping of civilians [?] On the screen is full of wit and 2,000 Ambassador to appear. A simple experiment to see if the movie epic feel now? Five minutes to go a little harder Readability geolrigin However, the author's wit and enjoy a cup of coffee with hagieneun decent game. "

.. Wit, 2000 Ambassadors and a Cup of Coffee. The perfect combination.

You've got to be shitting me...

That's weird, because just yesterday I was checking out my youtube video and saw that it had 1,000-odd views, and I realized that I completely forgot to include a download link. So, I did...and then that...What are you doing on foreign corners of the internet anyways?

Freakin' awesome!

WAIT, HOLD IT! They got the developer wrong! It says, "Developed by: Gamma256"! Hilarious!

LOL! I didn't notice the developer name
I found the link in the GoogleAnalytics report, under referring sites. The only other one that seems to be cropping up is the Indygamer blog link, but I guess you know about that one!

When the people get abducted they mention reavers and probes, no wonder the koreans are all over it!

There are a few Sci-Fi show references. Believe it or not, I don't actually watch too much sci-fi, so I had other people come up with some of them.

"Proof of contact!" and "I want to believe..." are both from X-Files.

"Wait! My towel..." is from, of course, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

"Help me, Tom Cruise!" was not from a sci-fi, but was from Talladega Nights. I really hate that movie, but that particular part was funny.

"Xenu has come!" is a reference to Scientology. Not exactly sci-fi, but damn close...

"No! Not Reavers!" is a reference to a very short-lived sci-fi series called Firefly. I recommend buying it if you can find it. The box set is really cheap now-a-days.

"Look at the pretties!" was also from Firefly.

Here are the rest:

"They're back!"
"Put me down!"
"No probing please."
"No! Take my wife!"
"I knew you'd be back."
"Jesus is here!"
"I'm too young to die!"
"No! I'm too skinny!"
"Here we go again..."
"Get me down!"
"This won't end well."
"Please don't eat me!"
"Don't take my brain!"
