Anti-CSS HTML FTW!
But I'm kinda with Jay on this one. Throwing out theoretical ideas might be a fun exercise, but what we really need to see are results. So far we've had very few new designs.

Sadly I'm no good at CSS or major web design (my demo site is an example with my ability just doing some basics, which btw, I know my site link takes you to a default, I'm still working on a actual site). I'd love to help (since I haven't been here in a while), but sadly this is one I have to stand back on XD.

Change that green to something more subtle and I like it.
Also, can we change this to a longer workshop? I'm tempted to enter something but a week isn't very much time. I'm busy.

I think more time would also be good. I can't really perfect my layout in such short time.

I have so many complaints about that theme, it's insane..
#1 would be "What in the name of hell do you need an entire scripting engine for THAT for?"
....
#78 would be "I know my name.. God damnit, why do sites have this infuriating need to have your name plastered somewhere!?!? Isn't it good enough that on Socoder your Avabar is already up there, top right?"
*sigh*
It's a nice theme, but you're really overthinking it, Stealth.
If it helps, that's entirely do-able in the style that I suggested the other day.
Minimal..
Think Minimal!
And not in the "Lets remove everything" sense of the word.
Nolan, it's been about a year and a half since I actually closed a Wednesday Workshop, so carry on.. New one'll be up in a jiffy, this will still be here.

If you send me them then I can use them to modify the design. I've already heard quite a few times that the green sidebar is too intense. I also never got around to adding clocks in the top avabar section.
#1 would be "What in the name of hell do you need an entire scripting engine for THAT for?"
I don't think it matters one bit what my layout looks like, if somebody else wanted to design something completely different then thats what the engine would be for.
This is forgetting the fact though that I've dismissed the scripting engine.
#78 would be "I know my name.. God damnit, why do sites have this infuriating need to have your name plastered somewhere!?!? Isn't it good enough that on Socoder your Avabar is already up there, top right?"
Sites do this as a visual confirmation that, in fact you, are logged in to the site. Also, the name can be linked to your edit account page. I would recommend your username not show up in the top area avabar area anymore.
It's a nice theme, but you're really overthinking it, Stealth.
Just let me hear everyones feedback. I'm trying to make it simple and quickly navigable.
Minimal..

I wouldn't say "minimal" so much as just eliminating information that doesn't do much justice. When I look at my design though, it has the same exact text thats on the homepage minus little.
So is that a real theme or a photoshop?
It's a Fireworks MX 2004 document. It's not HTML yet, but it's entirely convertible and would only take about ~3 hours to convert.

Stealth It's a Fireworks MX 2004 document. Do you have a license for that?

Who gives a shit. If you don't ask, you won't care. I'm not advocating piracy, but it's annoying to be accused of stealing every piece of software that isn't free.

Rules However, we will not make it our mission to hunt out every single member who may or may not be using such software. It's far too much of an issue for us to deal with. Let the software companies deal with their own copy protection techniques.
Yes, I actually do. I bought the software used but it's a real disk and a real license.
Also, why does it seem like I'm the only one getting the third degree on here? Jay especially is giving me a hard time with this layout. In general I think Jay gives me more of a hard time, but I usually ignore it.

I actually contemplated turning the badges back on, and giving DD the "Warez-hunter" badge, earlier..
But Nolan said all that was needed.

I had an idea, more themed weeks. Like E3 week, Tokyo Game show week, etc. It'll include a SoCoder theme, a main topic to discuss the theme and some challenges to complete for the theme.
