Is it just me or has there been no exciting new bands in the last two years?
Everything sounds exactly the same, with the same utterly boring lyrics and the same style and the same ill-fitting clothes and expensively stupid hair cuts, pandering to rich kids who don't vote.
Granted, none of these are particularily 'new' (with the exception of Melody Gardot and perhaps Paramore), but everyone knows new music sucks anyways.
Oh, there's also the Russian band (1089)(1087)(1080)(1085) (Splin) which my Russian penpal introduced me to;
*The rest of Afr0's videos are in the above spoiler tag, because it's a bunch of Youtube vids all on one page. Given my rant the other day, it'd be completely twatty of me to make folk put up with a page full of tube vids. Links do the job just as well, afr0..*
|edit| Jay, wtf?! How come you don't have support for rendering Russian character codes??! |edit|*Because A) Nobody'd use it, B) couldn't be arsed, C) They managed without, just fine, on the Youtube Title, I'm sure you can, too.*
CrapFromThePast, RadioSkipper, JapanARadio and SlayRadio.
That's pretty much it.
Between those, and the occasional "HardDrive on Shuffle", I'm pretty much content.
These are links to some random albums I've pulled out off Grooveshark (I'm pretty sure they are all complete).
It's a mix of indie with a tad of electronica and easy listening...
Before Socoder there was ... PulpMania!!
Pulpmania was a hub for Rare Pulp Bootleg MP3's, back in the days when they wouldn't hunt you down and murder you, just for being a pop group's fansite.
LeoVK was one of the regulars in Pulpmania's super-proto-perl-based shoutbox, and nowadays he's doing his own music.
Awwww.. They grow up so fast
