I would PML if the runner got mugged and the torch ended up in some scrapyard.

I actually caught a Pikey hitching my car up to a tow truck a few years back, and that was during daylight. He soon dropped the car as I started runnning towards him like a raging bull. |

A Pikey is a traveller that gives other travellers a bad name by going around theiving and ripping people off.
|edit| And they leave a big mess behind when they move on, they have the cheek to call themselves Gypsy's but they're not coz real Gypsy's are clean and respectable. |edit| |

Me and my wifes dad went to swap her cousins washer over, we took the old one out, carried it outside, went back in, unwrapped the new one, plumbed it in, walked back outside and the old washer was gone.. Literally 5 mins!
I'm sure they can smell it!

LOL. That sucks, but it's funny!
At work we had an old (but pretty well looked after) desk that was no longer required - we put it out onto the forecourt and it was removed within a couple of days, in broad daylight. We saw them take it, but left them to it - made our job easier tbh. They didn't even ask if they could take it though.

I once threw out an old TV. I carried it down to the comunal bins in the car parking area in my street, by the time I had got back in my flat, it was gone!
- I did leave a note on it, saying that it still worked, but I expected it to at least take a couple of hours for someone to notice it, not two minutes like it did

The olympics has been a monolithic corporate cornholing since the 90's if not before. I have no interest in it, take no pride in it, and would laugh my arse off if the torch got sold for scrap before the ceremony.
