We contact Black Shell Media and they sent an email with some prices and packages, such as the following:

Twitter Take Over:

Greenlight Express:

Also SeriouslyWeb replied with a very general email:
"Our offerings start as low as $300/mo (USD) and we can typically find a solution for any client."

So pretty expensive for a small indie company...

There's a very thin line between good PR and "Fucking Spam"
.. Be very careful who you're getting to do your PR.

The way I see indie game marketing is this... Paying for it is pointless... Your literally battling against thousands and thousands of apps with no guarantee that even if you chuck £1000 at your app, your not likely to see any decent return on that initial outlay.

Let's face it... How many of us has been tempted to click an inapp ad or click an online banner ad... For me, they are a pain in the arse, people pay money to get their apps on there, but does it work? Personally, I don't think so!

In this day and age, your better off sticking to the usual haunts, social media, YouTube, accessible publishers you know and use already... All accessible for nothing apart from maintaining such outlets (and obviously the usual 30% cut)

I think the bonus on top of them ones above is now we have kickstarter sites to use, I like to have a browse around them on occasion, and even though I haven't backed none yet, some have been tempting.

So, if it was me... I would look at them sites now and see how I could manipulate them to try and generate a bit of a buzz, with the potential of creating revenue to push your software further and be more appealing to end users.

I reckon if Dave did this for his chopper strike remake, he'd be backed to the hilt... Who wouldn't love to see another strike game? that's an example and a perfectly valid kickstarter project, which will probably sporn it's own marketing when people see it!

Thanks for the heads up regarding Black Shell Media.

I would hope that a proper PR does a lot more than just spam social media.

We are trying ourselves by sending our games to press, but most times we dont get a response.

And sometimes we do
