wow, this game is really hard! Not in a bad way, its done very well, just my eyes were bleeding while trying to see the spikes coming up, very challenging!
Sorry if this is a very simple question (im very limited at the moment when it comes to making games) but did you make all the graphics yourself? I found this link on another website so i dont really have too much information on how you go about making them.
Great work!

Yeah, all done from scratch. A simple background gradient, a very crude "gerbil", and everything else was done using really really simple squares and things, then filling them in with additional "inner gradient" things.
Here's a really quick "how to" for simple looking Grassy platforms that I made a while back. I pretty much did the exact same thing here, but added an additional two colour checkerboard thing, with a little shadow between the two colors.

Good job on this. It's an interesting concept, and it's very challenging. I've found that the best way to play is not to look at the screen as a whole, but to focus intently on just your character and watch for spikes via peripheral vision; there's simply not enough time to watch the spikes scroll from right to left.
