Old Blitzer, Rook Zimbabwe would have been 53 today. RIP Ralph.

I just looked him up, and fuck!, he would have been 47 going by the dates on the PB forum. R.I.P... Linkage!

Going at 47 is such a bad deal.

Not a name I'm familiar with, but, way too young. :/

I remember that name... never realised he passed away!

Such a shame!

Ah, was he the one with the submarine game that was taking about 10 years?

Oh yeah that's right... seem to recall he's no longer with us either?

No, and I'm pretty sure the poor sod ended up without anything, sorta recall a fundraiser setup thing to pay for his funeral.

For those who did not know Ralph Dunn. Here is a bit about Ralph.

Like most, he got fed up with Blitz and left. He moved to PB. He had a lovely wife. He did really well with PB and developed a POS system with PB that was successful enough that he was able to buy a new house for him and his wife. He was extremely proud of this (as he should be) and shared pics of the house with everybody. His avatar he drew on PB looked just like him. He went out of his way to help anybody he could with coding and he was extremely active within the community. He did not have an enemy on the forums.

Besides being a damn good man and a damn good husband, the biggest claim to fame a man can have, his lessor claim to fame was he taught math at one time in a performing arts high school in Texas. One of his students was a young Beyonce.

Nine times out of ten, when you are searching the forums to try and see if there is a solution to your issue, when you find an old thread that may help and you read it, there are several posts from Ralph in the thread. Seeing them and reading them, makes your heart smile, as his humor (often self deprecating) and his help, lives on.

When I saw his birthday pop up on the PB thingy today, I thought I would post what I did. He was somebody who deserves to be remembered.

Didn't know Red Oktober had died until well after it happened. Know his wife skunked him in the divorce. I have had casual contact with him long before the WWW days. Bought some software of his for the C64 way back in the day and talked to him on CompuServe for support as well as on the phone. Ran into him again in the 3DRAD community, years before Blitz ever came around. I liked him, but can understand why many didn't, but most don't like me either.
