Local speak....

Just out of curiosity, what do you (everyone) think about your own regional accent?

Personally, being from the north east and although not having a really strong Geordie accent, I feel quite aware that I sound like a complete idiot. Around here we miss 't's out of most words that need them, most vowels are hard even when they shouldn't be, completely ignore 'g's in every single 'ing' that we come across and probably much more that escapes me right now.

So is your regional accent a good one or do you sound stupid as a flat-earther?

I'm from Bolton, home of Peter Kay, Vernon Kay, Fred Dibnah and local legend DJ Sarah Cox.

My accent isn't so pronounced, though, as living in an Irish family gives me an odd half and half accent, which people often confuse as being Scottish.. but it isn't, it's just a hacked mashup of accents!
