What Have You Done - July 2019
UpsWhat did you get done this Month?
Did everything turn out as planned?
I'm well on the way to my first "four games in a week" schedule.
DownsWhat didn't you get done?
Because, who has the time?!!
NowWhat are you working on right now?
Rules for Checkers
How's that going?
This is one of those "the rules are really obvious, now try to code it.." situations.
So much repetition in the code.
Check up, check down.
Only check up if player one.
Only check down if player two.
But check down if player one and king.
And check up if player two and king.
And only jump if piece is same or higher than piece to capture.
And force capture if capture's available.
And have another go if another capture's possible. But only if it's that same piece, and not a different piece..
NextWhat's the plan for next Month?
More coding, I suppose..
You can copy+paste the BBCode from the box below, or structure however else you'd like...

I was really doing minecraft a lot. I figured out where I could mine emeralds as I found a couple while mining. I was underneath a large mountain area where they frequent. I mined a couple of stacks.
I then went and repopulated a village and started trading my produce for emeralds. I have a lot of emeralds now. I can get a full stack per day at this village.
I started building a big wall around the village to make sure that pillagers wil not be able to get in when the win10 version gets bugfixed and they start to appear. Though after a couple of hours of building I burned out. So many blocks to place!
Programming I did in lowres nx. Good old basic. I also found that appgamekit mobile is broken with my bluetooth keyboard. Anythng inside the “” characters give me a invalid character error message.
I did find that using p5.js from the browser is really doable on the ipad and with the bluetooth keyboard.
I spend not enough time creating pixel art. I really really want to get better at that. Pixie studio is really a allright replacement for spritesomething. Spritesomething started crashing frequently here.
Next month, maybe looking to see if laptop prices drop. Pixelart time and some programming.

Late with this one but finally finshed off the accounting software for work, at least until updates are requested but that's for another day. Next week is going to bring a new project for work involving vb.net instead, so, that'll be fun.
Still teaching kids coding every other weekend which I'm still enjoying. We're finally getting better computers in the library now, with some handy programs for coding and asset making in, yay!
Parkruns have been fun, got my 5k down to 28:15 last month, gotta get that time down further though Still, have improved by 3 minutes in the last 6 months which is great.
Been out with the kids a lot, got sun burnt a bit, ouchie!
Sort my life out, my head is still all over the place at times and that's not great.
Settle down and finish a game off. Don't start anything new until that's done.
Drag my butt to the gym more often.
Put my goals in order, I've been really disorganised of lateand that's affecting me a lot.
Set my Son up with his first proper computer.
Web / Game Dev, occasionally finishes off coding games also!

I turned my computer on to do some coding, for the first time in about a year. But then didn't actually code anything.
I did however draw a graphic for the last game I worked on. Progress!

Currently tinkering around with some code for a Centipede-esque type game I started on about 18 months ago. Not as productive as I would like to be, but hanging in there considering my current state of mind.
