Love that, yes very alien breed-like (great), you just need a motion tracker and to nuke it from orbit, game over man, etc

This game might've been better, had I not spent about 3 fucking hours, yesterday, trying to draw a decent Rainbow using sprites.
.. In the end I drew circles. Should've done that from the start.

You can Play Cloud Bees in GotoJSE.

Poor Ted Bob. He thought he was done shifting blocks around a maze, but.. Nope. The task is never complete.
Shift all four boxes onto their pads, to complete each level. You have a limited number of moves, and ALL the blocks are pushed simultaneously, so think carefully.

You can Play Quadoban in your browser, on Desktop, Mobile or Tablet.

You could apply that idea to lots of game types - like your helicopter rescue.

A fair number, yeah, it's a nice enough style.
One thing I found when drawing.. .. the very first sprite.. was that you have to have sprites that work flat. Either that or somehow create a sort of two-axis sprite...? (Front and side views, rotated 90 degrees)
Otherwise it completely shatters the illusion when they go off to the sides.

My first sprite was a cube.
Didn't work AT all!!!

Possibly. Maybe not a wrap, unless. ... The spikes move..?

I was thinking of two possibilities.

1) the spikes that wrap to the left side of the tube disappear, new ones are generated at this location as needed.

2) or you have a fixed density of spikes distributed around the tube and once you pass them they move or evolve into something else.

A third comes to mind, a spiral instead of a tube. You go round and up. Like nebulous.

I think the ball might be happier bouncing downhill, rather than up

I was imagining the spikes being assigned new heights when at the left, then whilst visible in the background, smoothly moving to those new positions.
But then I'm also thinking that might be too much going on, onscreen!!

I really like the idea, it's like those arcade games that have that distant layer to show you what's coming up next before they appear for you to shoot. But the tube is easier to visualise and understand.

Like this one. Once I realised you move left and right a block at a time it got a little easier. Got to the checkbox (?) level where there are two moveable boxes, on ontop of the other and was stumped but just realised you can pull blocks as well as push.

EDIT: OK, that did it. But how do you get that blue ball in the centre between the red and green door?

I think I probably could've done with half-a-dozen easier levels to start things off.

I've already had to apologise to one poor player on Twitter who asked how to do Tutorial Level 2, and then about 2 hours later asked how to do Tutorial Level 3!!

Editor.
Hold Left Trigger, Right Shoulder, Y, to enter the editor's level select.
A to play a level, Y to edit the level.
In edit or play mode, hold X to return to the menu.

In edit mode, A to draw, B to erase, Y to pick.
Hold a shoulder button and use Dpad to cycle through all the bricks at the bottom.

You can't really properly share anything, though, which is.. frankly.. a bit of a bummer.

Popcorn Bucket

View on YouTube

About 3 years ago when I released Space Popcorn on Switch, I said I'd eventually make a multiplayer "Popcorn Bucket" sequel, once I figured out Multiplayer controls.
I'm still not 100% convinced this works right, but if you've got 4 Joycons, and 4 players, why not give it a whirl.
Plays (or should!) for anything from 1 to 4 players.

You can grab Space Popcorn in SmileBASIC using the SBKey 4NZX544S3

SpikeDislike.com

Complete rewrite

View on YouTube

Back in 2020, I created a SpikeDislike.com, with the idea of constantly building it up, adding new themes and mechanics, and having it be super-awesome.
.. But I kinda coded myself into a corner, made the themes hard to generate, and inevitably left it to rot.

Since the site used all manner of functionality that has since been removed from browsers, and me not bothering to fix them, the site was left to rot.
Bugger.

This past week or so, I've rewritten the entire thing from scratch, with much input from SoCoder users and AGameAWeek frequenters along the way.
I've managed to get the engine as fast, smooth and as stable as I possibly can, and hopefully it works for some time to come.

My intent for this is Advent. And over the next month or two, I'll be building up the site in secret, ready for daily "Theme of the Day" unlocking over Advent.
.. Hopefully that works out, and I don't just completely give up halfway though!!

You can play SpikeDislike at SpikeDislike.com, on desktop, mobile or tablet.
