People (myself included) are digital packrats... Linkage

It's all the duplication that's the main issue. If I didn't have to rip my dvds because none of the streaming services offer the extras, then I could just stream them and delete all the files!

I had all my backups going back to '79. EVERYTHING. I had Blitz stuff from the first forum, which got redone and examples from them that never got reposted. Tons of source code, thousands of $$ in graphics. Third party software and indie languages. I had to walk away from almost everything as far as backups go. Lost almost everything, my entire digital existence.

Did my part to reduce my footprint. Miss my shit. :c(

Looks like I'm definitely a digital packrat, I have 2 HDDs in the tower, a few blank HDDs and a couple of old IDE drives with stuff that I still need to go through. The documents folder on my secondary HDD is stuffed full of stuff and plenty of stuff outside that folder.

Just realised, I have a third HDD in the tower that I plan shoving Linux on.

I grabbed every hard drive backup I could find and about a dozen new hard drives I still had in boxes. Only grabbed a couple of spindles of CD/DVD backups, but will be interesting seeing what I actually ended up with. Hoping the drives I pulled from the computers I had to toss still have some of the software I want on them.

Nothing short of a miracle, but I did see my Jamagic CD the other day. And I do NOT remember finding that to pack. Been many surprises in unpacking of things I wanted but know for a fact I did NOT pack, yet they found their way in a box.
