Out of interest Hoboben, how is your network secured, i presume you've done more than WPA. SSH tunneling? VPN?

You may have to set it up, though it should work.
Simple things to check:
[ul]All cables are securely connected[/ul]
[ul]You're using the correct type of ethernet (not a crosspatch cable)[/ul]
[ul]You're connected into the correct ethernet socket on yo*snip*

Basically, if its quad core, and each core runs at 2.5ghts, its effectively like a single core 10ghtz processor.
