Grafx2

Classic pixel art program

https://code.google.com/p/grafx2/
Found this a while ago, when chatting to one of its creators (PulkoMandy) on IRC for five minutes. Nice little program, although I could never get used to it. I guess it's more aimed towards those who got used to old-school painting.

I was using this a moment ago (for some basic graphics).
UI is based on DPaint, so it's suited well for making pixelated things in indexed color.

Rather than marking the area on screen for copying or transformations, selecting a rectangle copies directly to brush, which is always visible under the cursor, and can be transformed. Much can be done with keyboard - the most important key is B (for taking brushes).

This is open source program and works in Linux, too. Compared to Pro Motion, a commercial program, it lacks brush palette and animation.
