Puzzobomb

Connect the blocks

Puzzobomb 0.95
Screenshots

Left mouse to shift, right mouse to explode bomb blocks.

Now, granted, there's not many bomb blocks right now! In fact, there's pretty much the same selection of levels as in the last game.
But I've also added in as many puzznic(x) levels as I could get my hands on, so they're all in here, too.
Movement's a lot better than the WW edition, and there's a nice "My Levels" section to add your own into.

Sorted!!

Latest Update

0.95
A new frontend, and newer smaller bombs to keep things playable.
And plenty of bugfixes, too..

Note, you can also now play this game entirely with a touchscreen.. Tap a bomb 3 times to blow it up!

0.90
Still haven't really done much for the old level's par scores, but I did make the game compatible with levels from Vexed.
These contain a set number of moves, so those scores are now the pars for those levels.
Luvly stuff!
And.. LOTS of levels!!!

0.80
Still not a full collection of Par scores, but the whole "Level progression" system is now in.
Also, hold the mouse over a bomb for a little overlay of explody things!
And, I also fixed a rather big bug

0.75
I haven't yet placed Par scores for all the levels.
..
I suck at this game!

So, as you play, try to collect some nice par scores for me, and let me know what they are, either by posting them in the comments, or sending me the .lev files (which will contain the par's as you collect them.)

And feel free to make some levels of your own.

More stuff to come.

Updated to 0.8. I wasn't going to release this one so early, but I left a bit of a bug in 0.75 which allowed people to blow up any blocks, not just bombs! D'oh!
So, that's fixed, the progressions in, and there's a few inner bits and pieces, too.

Luvly stuff!

Another "can't yet be arsed making more levels" update.
Now up to v0.9, the game is compatible with levels from the game Vexed. There's plenty of them, out there, and quite a few in the download, so..
Basically just a big bunch of new levels!
And still not much point to the Bomb thing!

Awesome game Jay. It's quite addicting.

On the note of minor issues I had. If you scroll down while viewing a "pack" of levels and then click on a different "pack" of levels, it stays scrolled down instead of jumping back to the top. I'm not sure if that was your intent for it or not.

Other than that, it's a really cool game.

An update?!
Surely not!

It's been a good couple of weeks.. Jay doesn't usually spend THIS long on a game!!

Various bugfixes, and an overhauled menu system have brought about Version 0.95.

A rather large change has also occurred.

During development of ...

the phone version (whereby the level layouts are slightly smaller) I've had to reduce the overall power of the bombs..
Plus they were kind of annoying, anyway, right?

So now the game has completely different bombs, which will only destroy the adjacent + of tiles.
Better?
Who knows..

It makes things slightly more complicated, so that's good enough for me.

In the interim I've been developing both a DS (In C!) and a Mobile (In Java!!) edition of the game. They're both in about the same state at the minute, and I'm adding to them daily.
The Mobile edition is a straight "200 levels.. Play!!" version, with it saving your last level, so you can pluck it out of your pocket, play a level, and pop it away again.. Nice!

The DS version...
Well, at the minute it's the same, but I'm not sure exactly what to do with it's frontend, to be honest.
Either way, they're both using the exact same level format as the PC (In Blitz!!!) one (except the phone version will only use levels that will fit in the smaller grid size) so it'll be nice and easy to transfer things once everything's finalised.

Rightyoo.. I'll go and carry on with the DS and Mobile editions, build some more levels that actually have the Bomb in them, and you can play through the new version.
Let me know how it is!
Enjoy!

Note : If you want to save your pars/levels, make a backup of the level directory!! And .. obviously.. the old "original" pack I made won't be completable any more! and neither will any levels you've made that use the bomb!... 'cos it's changed!!
