I personally wouldn't want a glass display, I have trouble enough looking at bad text/background combinations, nevermind text/whatever is at the back of my desk combinations.

Someone on that page suggested looking at 10GUI, a concept desktop idea. I had a look, but now, it saddens me a little because the 10GUI/Con10uum desktop is not real.

Take a look at the 10GUI presentation.

Transparent screens are already happening, LG were showing one off, the other week.
So, yeah, it's all coming together, and in just a few years time really professional people will be able to shell out thousands of pounds to get that kind of tech.
We won't, but Microsoft don't care about us anymore.

For further details, see "Win 7 supports Multitouch", when most of us are struggling to get a single touch capable screen..

|edit| Mmm.. That 10gui's quite nice |edit|

I personally hate the idea of having to do an interpretive dance every time i want my PC to do something, or pretend i'm in star trek and say COMPOOTER, DOES THIS FOR ME!

It's cool in concept but cool doesn't always mean Functional

I agree with Mog, but only to a point. I think if it's built into work surfaces so I can just tap on my table to navigate folders and scroll documents then it's far easier. So long as the tapping is a tap and not a 'special open folder gesture'.
