IDEs

Installed VS Pro today, with TypeScript, VSVim, and set in dark mode. It's *really* nice!

Who Hype

Why would sending them back undo the paradox? All angels get destroyed, bar one, who sends Rory and Amy back in time. Done.
Still begs the question, why didn't they just leave New York?

JL235

Who Hype

6th October 2012

I remember that, but they can't be doing that well of a job, if their victims can go around publishing books.

JL235

Who Hype

5th October 2012

If they could go back and send stuff to Amy and Rory, like a book to be published, why didn't they just send them a letter saying 'leave new york, meet me in China'.
Clearly they also had some freedoms after going back, since they were able to publish a b*snip*

Then don't buy an iPhone 5, problem solved.

Freebies

3rd October 2012

Oh wow, I'll have to get my Dreamspark account. Vista and Win7 were released in October for manufacturing, so I presumed the Win8 October release was manufacturing too (instead that's the consumer release).

JL235

Freebies

2nd October 2012

I've not used Dreamspark, although I have access. The old MSDNAA which was the precursor, was awesome! I got access to software which would have easily added up to over £10,000 in licence fees.
The best thing is that they normally put new copies *snip*

Spread of the Shroom

2nd October 2012

Congrats!
Just be nice to the supervisors. Now that I'm a TA, it's amazing how much time I have to spend sorting trivial things, because students put themselves down twice for something, or didn't put themselves down at all, or put down the wrong details,*snip*

Columbo Appreciation

30th September 2012

It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest TV series ever produced.

I thought it was excellent! Waaaay better than any other episode this series.

AppleCrap

28th September 2012

It feels like the tide is kinda starting to turn for Apple, just as Windows 8 is on the horizon.
iMaps was terrible, people miss the YouTube and Google Maps apps, no real improvements in the last update (I've also noticed a lot of bugs that weren't there *snip*

Dr DD : The Initiation

24th September 2012

We have to make a web page, for the staff system. Here is the one I am building:

The 'projects' title blinks too, and the top bar all works, just like on TeleText.

Dr DD : The Initiation

If I remember, not very well. The performance is just too bad, and there were a few bugs from back then.
Although I've not tried, just installed the latest version of FF.
However they have a dual boot with linux on the machines, and most of the tutorials*snip*

iOS6

23rd September 2012

They will probably be using lots of different data sources. It could also be that some of their sources were just bad. Data doesn't turn 30 years old due to corruption, it would be out of date to begin with.

JL235

iOS6

22nd September 2012

I'm guessing that they had it all built in the US. So mispellings and incorrect data wouldn't stand out.
Here is my University on iMaps:

Kibi vs Kilo

9th September 2012

No, it doesn't have to based around 1024, because that isn't how computers have to work. It's how pretty much all modern PC's are organized, in units of 1024, along with 8 bits to a byte. However it's not how it has to be, and in the past there have been l*snip*

JL235

Kibi vs Kilo

8th September 2012

It is a real hassle with ISPs doing it, especially when all downloaders and updaters will use megabytes instead of bits. Since it's also what their filesystem uses, it's also the number people are ultimately interested in.
I also don't mind having units i*snip*

JL235

Who Hype

7th September 2012

I found it a bit mixed. The first half of the episode was too over dramatic, with too many orchestral stuff, with nothing really happening. It's not very intense if they are surrounded by tonnes of daleks, with just a long drawn out piece of dialogue to wo*snip*
