My room mate takes a lot of photos, organises them into folders, renames them all with the date included in the name and then uploads them all to Facebook. If you could do those three things from your app it would be very useful. Especially if it could also connect and download albums from Facebook. Perhaps allowing the user to store them locally and even update the content with any new photos added to the album.

I could imagine something like that to be very popular.

A cool feature would be something that identifies duplicate photos.

Also, just make it easy to deal with a ton of photos. It can really be a pain sometimes.

What I like about a good photo organiser is not so much the features but the implementation. It's good if I can navigate through my photos in a folder using all the same key shortcuts as in explorer.

If it's a photo organising tool then you should also allow it to be a proper stand alone photo viewer too. i.e. If I have 1 photo on my desktop that I want to look at, I just want the viewer. I don't want the photo organiser + viewer. That's something I hate about a lot of photo organisers.
