Pros + It's very fun, very challenging when you reach later levels. The graphics are simple, but really clean, sharp, and they all go together well. The snowballs add to the game-play, as well as the many different badies.

Cons - Though it does have Christmas sprites, it really wasn't a Christmas themed game. Get what I mean? But since we're not judging it for a competition at the moment, who cares!

The pacing could be tweaked a little; very little. Levels went from extremely easy, kill-one-guy type of deals, then to some really hard ones, especially playing the first time around, then easy again...etc.

The boss was awesome.

Hmmm... I downloaded it, and tried to run it. But all I got was a blank MS-DOS screen.

Shroom_Monk: That's the console window... the game window should follow shortly. Not sure what the problem is, though.

Blanko: Thanks for the review!

I agree entirely with the lack of Christmas in the actual game... I guess I was trying too hard to make the game fit in both the Devcrunch and Shmup-Dev competitions.

As for the pacing, you're definitely right. I'll admit that as the competition deadlines came closer, I began to throw levels together, without really testing them.

Another thing that I would change if I were to go back and edit the source (which probably won't happen) would be to have a level fall-back. For instance, lose all your lives on level 20 and the next time you start, you'll be on level 15 to begin.

Thanks again!

I love the sleigh bells!

That Gingerbread Man is a tough cookie but I got him eventually

Only problem I found with it was when you dead and start again from the beginning, it doesn't reset score and presents. I also found that my health started half way down sometimes as well though which didn't help.
