A demo level

A demo level in the making
Back to Main Page | Written by Admin on Jul 7, 2011 | Last updated on Jul 7, 2011 |

I have decided to have some sort of direction to fuel creativity. I will try and get a working demo level out to show off the game and also to try and gain support from Steam's indie guys and maybe get it out there for sale.

I have a few things I want the demo to show.

* A dungeon reminiscence of the Zelda / Golden Axe Warrior

  • Key and locked door combinations

  • Combat

  • A couple of enemies to bash

  • Some sort of boss to conquer

I have started on the dungeon tiles, mainly just the floor, wall and edge tiles and lastly a naff looking sconce.

I will keep you posted of progress

Are there any artists out there?

I could do with some advice on getting my tiles to look a little better.

See the screen shot above, the floor, wall and edge tiles appear to be the same thing and flat

    I'm a 3D artist, I'm not good with tiles.
But I can give you a tip: You should give your map editor a cool, fancy name that has absolutely no relevance to the project as a whole. Examples include:

    • ZebraFart
    • Gnome Edit
    • METH (Map Editor Tm Hell yeah)
    • GardenHose
    • Whale Edit

    'mapedit' sounds boring.
