Ninja Attack

Defend Hyphadon from the Gherkins!

ninja_attack.zip (Main ZIP)
ninja_attack_patch.exe (Patched EXE)
Screenshots
This is my entry for Monthly Workshop #001 - The Pickups.

Full instructions are in-game, but basically, you have to defend the Shroomish world of Hyphadon from attacking Gherkin Ninjas for as long as possible!

Arrowkeys to move, up to jump.
SPACE to attack.
D to fire disk
S to use force field
F to use flame.
G to fire Ground-Bomb.
I to fire Intercept-Bomb.
C to fire Column-Bomb.
ESC to exit (but why would you want to do that!? )

There is a known issue with graphics modes. If you have a decent computer (unlike me) that doesn't support 800x600, then download the ZIP file as normal, but also download the patched EXE, and run that instead. That will run it in a window.

Enjoy!

Good use of pickups, but too many keys for me! I ended up just mashing them together randomly!

just a suggestion spore head....just kidding
I mean Master Mushroom

perhaps the arrow keys for movement
the ctrl key for attack with melee weapon
or the the mighty fist force of Shambala Spores.
and perhaps the shift key for a defined special weapon.

There is a default special weapon but can be changed by cycling thru the special weapons...or even perhaps assiging number keys for specific special weapons.
then you use the shift key for using that special weapon.

what do you think, Spore King??

Hmm... I agree that the allocation of the keys for special attacks could have been better. When I was trying to figure out where to put them, I decided to allocate the first letter of each attack, and fortunately that meant that SDFG ended up next to one another.

@ Mousey - I like your idea! The only slight problem would be selected the one you want quick enough... hmm... perhaps someone might remake it for this month's challenge!

hey Shroomie,

I have another suggestion.

My brother Mark knows how to fence really well.
And I'm not talking about putting up the wire or gated fences either.
He is really good at sword fencing.
He is now going to take a class on Kendo.
Close combat sword fighting with Samurai swords....but they use plastic encased bamboo sticks to start.

How about bamboo sticks and lite Samurai swords as the primary weapons.
Also limited Kai force powers like Shambala Shouts,
Helix Healings, and the mighty Mushroom Cloud....which sprays spores on your enemies to make them slow down and/or to eventually fall asleep.

Also.....
have a Gherkin jump up and around from time to time
but most of them just rush/move in and out to attack and defend themselves too.
