Avid Media Composer | First

This showed up in my subscribed feed, today.

I was intrigued.

A free version of a popular video editor, it claims!!

So, I went to the site, clicked the download page, registered then downloaded the 2Gb download.
I double clicked the download, and the installer began.

The progress bar zoomed across the screen. My hopes were dashed when the progress bar then looped endlessly for what must've been about a fucking hour..

Once installed, the system rebooted.
It didn't reboot into my usual smooth, well honed setup. Instead, it ran about 1/4 speed, the fan going a clanger, and a popup requesting my new Avid username and password appeared.
Once done, I tried to launch the app, but it complained the DRM bollocks wasn't quite working.
The fan continued to go crazy.

After about a 10 minute wait, I gave up, uninstalled the fucking thing, and rebooted back to normality, with no fucking fan going fucking crazy.

Not for me, thanks!
I'll stick to EditStudio6.
True, I paid for that, but at least it was bloody well worth paying for.
