Socoder -> Sony Gaming -> Guitar Hero5 - Custom songs...

OK, I've been playing guitar hero for a couple of weeks. I had put off getting this forever cos I thought it would be crap, but it turns out to be quite a good game.
Anyway, does anyone here have this game? I have ventured into the custom song maker thingy and well, its absolutely terrible. The easiest thing for them to do, would have a joypad controlled tracker (much like modplug) similar to what people have been using for decades, but no, you get a pile of crap editor that makes no sense and you can only control with the damn guitar!!

So, here is my main questions...

Has anyone else used this editor?
How the hell do you enter REAL notes into the stupid thing?
Why the hell did they make this editor so counter-intuitive?

I considered trying to learn the editor, then I went to GHTunes and listened to the 'Top', 'Featured', and 'Hot' tracks and decided that it wasn't worth the effort.

Supposedly there is a sequencer in there somewhere, but how you get to it I dunno.

Don't have GH. Bought Rock Band a few months ago, and the strum bar won't do down's anymore.. (FFS!)

Stupid thing's got about 20-odd screws before I can open it up.

Can't be bothered right now..

I've got a GH guitar that won't down-strum.
And a GH guitar that won't star-power.
And a GH guitar that star-powers automatically.
And a GH guitar that randomly plays yellow notes even though I've turned the flipping touch-strip off in the game options.
And a GH guitar where the Red fret button doesn't work.
And...

I think if you opened a plastic guitar controller repair shop you'd stay busy.

If nintendo made one, it would work. Isn't spending all your money on GH guitars what the game is for?

Fixed!!

I opened it up to find two little Magnetic Relays inside.
The strummer holds two magnets, they get close to the relays, relay connects, guitar strums.
Unfortunately, not sure why, but the magnets weren't quite up to the job.
Hmm.
...

I dug out a Fridge Magnet game.
It's a game of Go which you slap onto the fridge. Magnetic board, magnetic pieces, simple stuff.
Cutting out little strips of magnet from the wasted "held all the pieces" magnet area, I tested each little strip until I found two with the right +/- ratio to trigger the relays, then strapped them (with good old Sellotape) around the parts of strummer that moved close.
Now I've one super fine working guitar, and am off to download some Queen tracks!
Woot!!
