Question of the Day : January 10th

What did you learn today?
Tue, 10 Jan 2023, 01:00
cyangames
That I can somehow be up at 5am, get to the gym, sort out breakfast and lunch , put the washing on and get to work nice and early.

I've been trying to fall asleep earlier in general recently

I woke up about 5am, too, but all I've done is *cough* this week's Quantum Leap, watch it, and am now most of the way through the Quantum Leap Podcast.

10th: That my knees which always hurt are capable of even more excruciating pain, as my left knee was (and still is) in horrible pain.

11th: What Jay said applies to me, as well.

Depends what other people are talking about. If it involves or affects me; I care. If not... I tend not to.

I'm a jaded man after my last relationship, I'm happy enough with my dolly harem.

On a slightly related note, I saw the trailers for M3GAN recently , my brother and some of my friends said how they thought of me whenever they saw it, my reaction was one of, oh, looks a bit young but it'd be handy to have an army of them on my side

Dunno if my reaction will change upon watching the movie though, ha!

Question of the Day : January 15th

What's your biggest regret in life?
Sun, 15 Jan 2023, 06:29
Jayenkai
I never got out and explored. Post-crap, I really resent not having really been anywhere. I enjoyed walking to school/college/town/work, but never bothered to venture more than that. And I should've done. I enjoyed walking, and now that I can barely do it safely, it's something that really gets me into that low mental place, from which only a good marathon coding session can get me out of.

I don't have any real regrets, but I made some choices to get to where I am in my life. My life would most likely be very different had I made other choices at the time. Would my life have been better or worse? I'll neve know.

14th: Hopes? Wake up tomorrow. After losing everything, I really do not plan things out much further than that or make hopes for a future that may never come.

15th: Regrets? A lot since a little over a year ago, and they fucking haunt me. Having to put our cats to sleep. Another one, when Carolyn was waiting for the ambulance to take her to the hospital, she asked me to get her a glass of ice water. I really was not feeling well either, and although I did it, I grumbled and gave it to her with an unpleasant attitude.

Given it was some of the last words ever spoken to her, yes a really big regret. Also did not know she was dying and would not be coming home. What an utter worthless piece of shit I am!

Very few things I would change if I had a do-over, but that is one of them...

What was something that you really wanted to do as a kid but never had the opportunity to? And did you ever do it as an adult?

Buy a Megadrive, instead of constantly renting it out from the local Video Shop.
... Mind you, those were the days, eh!? Imagine doing that kind of thing, nowadays!?
You'd get the Xboxbxoxoxsososoxsoxsbxos back to the house, have to sit through 24 hours of updates, then have to take it back to the video shop.

I'll have to pop into our local video shop one day, and see if they still do, just for shitz'n'gigglez.
And yes, we do still have a video shop. ... And yes, it still has videos.

And yes, I did buy a Megadrive. The PS1 was already out, the Saturn had superseded the Megadrive, but damn if I wasn't still buying one!
Took me ages to find a Model 1 in Cash Generators, though. They were all Model 2's that people were getting rid of due to the crappy sound chip differences.
It used to take pride and place in front of the telly, until one Xmas when mum decided to put it safely away into the Shed whilst all the Xmas decor was out.
When I eventually dug it out again, from behind layers of cardboard boxes, the thing was rotten, soaked, bluemolded and more.

And yes, I am still very much pissed off about that.
