Been a while but December at work was fucking mental, then Christmas and not much else got done.

As I said ages back I decided on an automated "nearest enemy" targeting system rather than manually targeting things, and it worked great. But then, you might not necessarily want to kill the thing that's nearest to you, i.e. if there's a truck, which is no threat to you, and a tank beyond it, you'll want to hide behind the truck and maybe throw a grenade over the top to get the tank.

So I shoehorned in an option to lock the current target, AND cycle through any targetable objects in front of the player. Because I hadn't planned that from the start the code went to spaghetti, and there were loads of little bugs that were proving really difficult to fix. So a few weeks back I thought fuck it - I'll rewrite the lot.

The targeting system was about 500 lines of code, and I scrapped probably three quarters of that and rewrote it with an end-goal in mind, this time. The result now works 100% (as can be seen by the green target reticule under the exploding truck).

Oh, I've also added in blast craters too.
