death of cobra basic - time for a new language

@Afr0, that is a strawman argument. Starcraft 2 being written with C++, does not mean JS isn't used.. For indie games, tonnes of devs are moving to use HTML5 and JS, and tonnes of big studios are using it for side projects. Bethesda even launched the Wolfe*snip*

death of cobra basic - time for a new language

These days cloud based is the direction things are going. It's quite simple, people can just visit and it'll just work.
So I'd recommend taking a look at JavaScript or CofferScript, using HTML canvas or WebGL (or one of the many frameworks, like three.js *snip*

Ah, exams. I remember those.
It's odd that your initial life skills are setup based on a system, you'll never go through in real life. However I suppose it's the best we have.

A lot of these silly laws don't actually exist anymore. The main reason is because newer laws take precedent, and overrule them.

HTML5 taking the new by storm.

8th May 2012

HTML5 also brought the canvas tag, so you'd need HTML5 to do those sorts of graphics.
Really 'HTML5' is not really about HTML5, it's about the canvas, video, audio tags, CSS3 and performant JavaScript. These are things which have already been around for a*snip*

Take a look at XAMPP, I believe that comes with Ruby on Rails. I've not tried that myself, but XAMPP is excellent, and I'd be very surprised if it goes wrong.
Personally I setup Ruby and Rails manually, but it's a nightmare to get right. The issue is that*snip*

Tbh, don't use PHP. It's a really horrible language.
I'd recommend you get started with Rails, or you could try out Sinatra. Sinatra is pretty slim, but offers a very clean basic structure for a site.
Although a little magical, there are good reasons why*snip*

I've not used Cake, but I've heard terrible things about it. Kohana is meant to be much better for PHP. MVC though is pretty straight forward, and makes a lot of sense once you get your head around it. It's also pretty predictable, which is useful for big *snip*
