shroom_monk	(Pun intended) Yep, after complaints from gamers that the WiiMote wrist strap keeps breaking, resulting in the destruction of windows, TV, people, etc by flying WiiMotes, Nintendo are dealing with the issue by issuing a thicker wrist strap. So, all new Wiis will have the strap, but looks like Jay will have to dish out for a replacement... -=-=- A mushroom a day keeps the doctor away... Keep It Simple, Shroom!

Jayenkai	They probably started replacing the straps ASAP. I dunno! Anyway, if I pull the strap tight, it looks thick like the left hand strap picture, not ludicrously thin like the right hand one.. JL235	People were most probably swinging the remotes around by their straps. Even though you shouldn't do it, the straps should be able to withstand that strength.
