Better or worse?

We Are The World 25

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glny4jSciVI&feature=channel
Is it better or worse than the original?
I actually think it's better so far. But I never really liked the original all that much.
Here are the people I've recognized so far;

Celine Dion
Miley Cyros
Enrique Iglesias
Wyclef Jean
P!nk
Jamie Foxx
Michael Jackson
Santana
Snoop Dogg
Akon
Jeff Bridges?!
Kanye West
Rihanna?
Janet Jackson

Worse.

The hacks featured in the new one can not even come close to the talent seen in the original - Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Paul Simon...c'mon! The group featured in the new version is a giant disgrace to the music industry; even that auto-tune abusing douchebag makes an appearance. And what in THEE HELL was up with that rap breakdown near the end? God, I wanted to stab my ears out. Are you sure we're listening to the same thing, Afr0?

If they cared, they'd have all met up, and done it properly.
By doing it the 'mixtape' method, they've just proven that it's only been done for the sake of publicity.

I'm sure there's a few who did it because they cared, but the whole industry is in a different place to where it was 20 years ago for LiveAid.
This isn't that.

And it's a shit song.

They could've bothered to write a new one.
Desperation for publicity suggested otherwise.

I agree with what Blanko and Jay said. It doesn't even sound good. And how the hell did that auto-tuned mishap get in anyway? This comment sums it up brilliantly:
Was that my dog howling or Lil Wayne? How this guy is doing anything beyond pumping gas is amazing to me.

blanko: It's not as though you can hear Ray Charles in the original anyways...
I actually liked the rap-breakdown near the end. It adds a touch of... difference... to the song. And it shows that the producers and whoever was responsible for this thing really cares about Haiti. This is not the sort of thing Snoop Dogg, Kanye West and the other guys would normally be able to participate in. It broadens the target audience. Plus, it makes sense. Haiti is one of the countries that was part of developing modern rap.

Jay: I checked, and Jeff Bridges was in it! As was Vince Vaughn. God knows they cared, because I'm pretty sure they can't sing very well.
I definately agree that the song isn't very good. It wouldn't take much to beat the original, and they more or less managed it...
