How's your hand?

I ignored the specialist's advice and did not use the splint he gave me. I made my own that kept my fingertip perfectly straight and wore it for the eight weeks.

The tendon healed perfectly and the fingertip is perfectly straight. The specialist said that injury almost never heals that straight.

So, it has healed very well. Still some stiffness in the mornings, but it goes away within a few minutes. I am still working on stretching the tendon back out a bit so the fingertip can bend 90 degrees to the rest of the finger, but currently I can bend it 75%-80% and I will keep working on it. There is also still some mild soreness in general, but it will eventually go away.

Tried playing one of the new guitars and although rusty from not playing the guitar in over a year, the finger held up, so all should be good. :cD

As a replacement or as a back-up

Neither, just adding to the collection... :c)

I could not make up my mind between a nice white Washburn acoustic and a black Takamine acoustic, so I ordered both. The first white one delivered was cracked, so I had to send it back and order from elsewhere.

The black one was fine and the replacement white one was fine. Also ordered cases. The white one has the most beautiful blue purfling I have seen on a guitar and I have been wanting this model for a few years ever since I first saw it.

I will replace the tuners on the black guitar (too small and more the size as on a Strat or Tele). And I will add the acoustic pickup I normally use to both, and also add a brace I use to prevent the tops from warping with age, but both guitars are beautiful and in great shape. They just need a decent setup to get the action a bit lower.

So, I am now up to 21 guitars. :cD

Rough week or so, wifey was sick and then Shadow got sick again and we had to take her to the emergency room. She is better now and back to normal.

After playing hell trying to order the case I want, I found a killer deal for a short term sale for only $50 (most places sell these for $90), so I ordered three, one for each new guitar and one for my really expensive acoustic. These cases have some of the best padding in the body area, much better than the majority of cases out there.
