Prime Day July 2025

The shopping list had been building for quite a while over the past few months, so I managed to bag a few half-decent deals, this morning.

1. Eneloop charger and batteries. I could've gone for the Pro 2500mah ones, but instead opted for the Standard 2000mah ones, mostly because the charger is USB based, so saves another plug socket! (Still need to sort out getting extra plug sockets in the bungalow!)
Pack of AA's have been in my basket since about mid-May, and have bumbled about between £20 to £22, but this morning were £18, so .. click! The charger with 4 more AAs similarly dropped from about £15-£16 down to £13
Not a massive saving, but a purchase none-the-less.

2. Bolero Drinks
It's been a long time since I was last able to buy some Bolero drinks. The price went through the roof after Brexit hit, so I kinda gave up with them.
Figured I'd have a hunt, this morning, and found a pack for £20. Not even on Prime. Better than the £50 or £60 they were asking for this same box a few years ago. The last time I bought a box, they were £24, so .. yeah, that's enough of a bargain, even if it isn't technically a Prime deal.

3. Eufy Robot Vac
We've never had a robot vac before, but since we bought the new carpet, and we now have a lovely big single-area that runs from the back to the front of the bungalow, we figured it might be nice to try one out.
But, bloody hell are they expensive buggers.
So we've been waiting for Prime Day, and it's been fairly successful.
This one showed up at £99 this morning, so we whipped it up. Mostly for a trial, if nothing else. £99's not "too" bad, in the grand scheme of things. If we like it, we might look into getting one of those self-cleaning ones later down the line. Or if not.. ... Not!

Next on the list is finding some decent curtains for my bedroom to brighten it up a bit. The current ones are navy blue, and I'm so sick of dark blue hues pulling down the brightness that's around the rest of the room. Maybe something orange/yellow/cyan to go with all the hexagons..? But I can't imagine that'll be a massive discount, nor have I even measured up yet. CBA, yet

Have you picked anything interesting up, today?

4. Curtains and pole.
Nice bright yellow ones to lighten up the room, instead of dull dark blue.

5. Power strips with USB sockets. These are ever so handy. I have one in my room already, with 2 plugs and 2 USB. The new one has 4 plugs and 3 USB. I bought two of these, so the other will be replacing the giant 6-plug one that's dragged around the room. Between the two of them, I'll have the same number of plugs in total, but will have a few extra USB connections, and will be able to move a few things around, freeing up a little bit of space in places, and making the whole myriad of wires a little bit neater.

6. A desk-shelving unit thing, to help clean up the stupid clutter that's gathered on my bedside table.. ..

Spent over £200 today. Fuxake. How the hell did that happen?

*checks bank balance*
Oh my god...
Right, no more spending for a couple of months. Let that build back up again.
Hopefully no spending emergencies are incoming! We're in the run up to Xmas, now, so any spending will likely be gift related.

Other things I've spotted whilst shouting "Don't...." at myself

M4 MacMini (16Gb, 256Gb Storage) is only £499..!! Crikey.
Be sure to grab a decent External Drive of sorts, though. 256 really isn't a lot.

Huawei's Band 10 is currently £34, and I can happily vouch for these being incredibly powerful for that price. Both me and Mum have the Band 9 (the Band 10 released about a week after we bought them!! Isn't that always the way!?) and they've been practically a permanent feature on both our arms since.

There's a myriad of 8bitdo controllers on offer, but they're the usual "I'm not sure that's actually any cheaper" thing that you see a lot on Prime Day.

.. Could've bought a big telly instead of the curtains.. Damn.. why didn't I see that earlier!?!
