PyxelEdit practise on laptop

Pixeling with the c64 palette





It was around noon and I decided to load up pyxeledit. I had thought of creating snowy landscape tiles. I needed to do the transitions for the other already done tiles also. I think I spend 1.5 hours on it. I have yet to memorize the shortcut keys for the pencil tools. The snow landscape reminds me of warcraft 2 for some reason.

The other tiles, the platformer ones, I did earlier this evening. These I spend around 1.5 hours on also I think. I found a reference image on twitter from the #pixelart hashtag and copy pasted that on in graphics gale. I now used a 32x32 size per tile, which I was kind of worried with the difficulty. But it seems to look ok to me.

Both the images use the c64 palette. This palette seems to be displayed standard after I start the tools There are only 16 colors and I kept them original. I am starting to learn to use the shortcuts. But need to learn how to use layers and transparancy.

I have installed gamemaker 1.4 on my other laptop and updated it on the other one. I want to try out the sprite editor and see if it is easy to program maps while drawing tiles. The tutorials for gamemaker seem to be handy for getting to know gamemaker.
