Well, I've removed my pledgieness from monkey2, Mr S has had about £120 off me and I do think that's enough for something that will ultimately be opensource!

I'm on the fence with this, but ultimately decided not to bother.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Blitz's, and I've paid for Amiga Blitz 2.0, PC Blitz 2D, Blitz 3D, Blitz Plus, Blitz Max, Monkey and will eventually pay for Monkey 2 or whatever it ends up being called.

At no point have I paid in advance, and .. realistically, that's the way I'd like to keep it.

I've always said that if I stumble upon the mystical magical game that brings me bazillions of TEH MUNIEZ, then some of that will go to Mark. .... It hasn't happened yet, though :\

It depends what you're using it for I guess. For a hobbyist just mucking about with it then a ton is about its worth, considering the limited shelflife/support cycle.

For earning potential it's got to be worth a lot more than that. But then, like it or not, there's stiff competition from the likes of Unity and UE4.

I did stray over to Unity for a while but I'm back with Blitzmax for now (as obsolete as it is, it still does its job), working on CS3. I do like Unity but it isn't the right time for me to be taking that sort of gamble, down a road I've never been before.

Horses for courses.

Yeah, I've no plans in making anything spectacular anytime soon, and even if I did look into it, I'd probably just go the GLBasic route, for some reason, I'm more productive using that... Dunno why mind, I love good auld Blitz, but there we are!

working on CS3

Whoah! Where was the news flash!?

I've only gone down the road of paying for something that wasnt ready once (Elite Dangerous via KickStarter) and wont be doing it again any time soon.

MonkeyX is a great language and I'm sure MX2 will be ace too... but as Dave has stated there are so many tools out there at the moment which are "free".

I'm currently doing a cut down version of CS:USA for Android (using MX) and then its back onto BMX... or maybe BMX-NG (wink @ Dabz: )
