A letter to my school... Hey, my name is Andrew. I am a student at Campus High School. I am writing about a website I have created called CHS Talk. It will be launching in three weeks. I didn't know if it was in my interest to contact the school about it. This website is a tool for students to communicate. It will feature a forum, message system, picture uploading, blogging, profiles, and currently does feature a tool to access PowerSchool from the website. The current logo does have the colt symbol (https://www.chstalk.com/logo.png) but it can be removed if you request it to be. A few questions and concerns. Firstly, the site does feature a tool to access PowerSchool grades. The login information for PowerSchool is stored in the users profile and I believe it is fairly secure. The databases are behind a firewall, and the PHP script is hopefully flawless. It is your choice if this tool is part of the website or not. On another note, privacy. Of course online predators are an issue. The site already has about 5 site administrators that will monitor activity. If you have concerns about the privacy of the students using the site, please let me know. That subject will be taken very seriously. I think the only other thing the school might be concerned with is students trying to access the site at school. The site will display the message "You can not access CHS Talk from Campus High School." when page requests come from the IP number 68.98.207.36, which I think is the IP for Campus High School. I was considering allowing access to only the picture system from the school, but only if the school was interesting in that. I know I am emailing the webmaster and I have no idea what position you hold in the school system. Let me know though about anything, concerns, questions, etc. Who knows. Maybe nobody will use the site and I will have just wasted several hundred hours of my life.  Thanks, - Andrew -=-=- Quit posting and try Google.

hey stealth, thank you for providing these features and sites for the students at your school. I know...I know..  I can hear you say yeah, you're welcome. Yet, you're gonna say but...but and you're right. But what issues ranging from students dissing other students and teachers too?? Or even about school guidelines and policies?? What if the principal or a teacher is on and sees and reads these before a moderator or a administrator catches this. Can a student and/or a teacher make an issue out of this?? I'm sorry to call this to yur attention. But it has happened before. There were legal issues involved. <wish I can stay aboard on the board , but I mustget ready for work. sorry. looking forward to hear from you. >cheers, power mousey |

so hey stealth, what do you think. yeah, sometimes I'm a worry wart. Yet, just concerned and letting you know. Just trying to help you out bro. Maybe and hopefully, it won't come down to those situations and circumstances that I described above. but hey, just in case... <and work is kinda slow right now... but we have to go later on to a Hazardous Waste Class.  > |

hey, its cool and I know. if one of my favorite shows was on...like Star Trek:the Next Generation, or even Lost or Invasion I would reply and with a quick one too. Rush out and start to watch the tv show. cheers,
