Not necessarily... They reckon that the sprogg would never have survived anyway. It was a last minute, desprate decision of hope.

His cut down version of the device came from the heart, therefore his motivation for making the device was purley cos he wanted that baby to have a life. Publicity, probably never occured to the Doc.
