E Text Editor

A minimal-UI text editor with support for TextMate bundles

https://www.e-texteditor.com/
My favorite text editor.

It includes its own revision control system, support for TextMate bundles (basically, these are the equivalent of add-on packs full of commands, templates, highlighters, etc.), scripting via the shell (through cygwin -- if it's accessible through cygwin, it can be used to add new commands to E), and has a very minimal UI.

A good portion of TextMate bundles have been ported to E/Windows, but a few still require some work or have not been ported (some don't require porting). In order to take advantage of the bundles, you must allow E to install Cygwin as well. These are downsides in a way, but I personally think they're worth it.

This isn't a free program. (Granted, it's not expensive.) If you were looking for one, try Programmer's Notepad, Notepad++, scite, and the many other free text editors.

Anyhow, try it yourself, I can only ramble for so long (or short, I suppose). Jayenkai might kill me for this.

I'll KILL you for that!!! (j/k)

It's not bad, I gave it a go last week, but in all honesty I'm comfortable with Programmer's Notepad, and see no need to change. There wasn't anything AMAZING that E had that PN didn't.

<shrugs>
I could go either way..
..
I'd probably go the cheaper way

I like EditPlus. Yeah, the "project" handling is a joke, but I like using EP, especially now I've downloaded a Windows version of Mac's TextMate font and use this in my EP.
