I almost ended up ringing VirginMedia, and shouting at them for a while, until I remembered that the old router's MAC code wasn't it's inbuilt one. A swift* hunt for the replaced/cloned MAC code later, and I'd finally managed to get the new router to work the way it oughta. Stupid networks.
