This week, I finally fixed that really irritating niggling little bug that I don't think anyone ever spotted, but me.
Way, way back when I first added the Uploader, I got it to generate a _thumb. version of the image, and scale it down to a smaller size.
If width>target and width>height, scale width to target, scale height appropriately.
If height>target and height>width, scale height to target, scale width appropriately.
... Spot the bug!
Can't see it? Seems right, doesn't it!?
The issue was, of course, that if you tried to upload a perfectly square image,the damn thing didn't scale it!!
D'oh!
Such a simple fix, and one that I knew exactly how to fix, and that took less than a minute to fix once I bothered to do it.. But one that I put off, because I figured nobody would ever notice it.
I fixed that, this week.
It's been there for the past three or four years!
You can now safely upload square pictures!
