; Hello World

Last week, I asked "Are you still reading this?"
I instantly got a reply from Andy Hewitt, who told me that the whole newsletter's layout has been fucked up, on his phone, for ages.
God damnit, Google! I specifically formatted it that way, JUST SO THAT IT WOULD LOOK GOOD ON A PHONE!!!
But, no. Phones have decided that 65 characters are FAR too much content for their tiny little screens.

God forbid you actually try to fit 65 entire letters on the width of your 640 pixel wide screen.
Amstrad CPCs could only fit 80 characters into a 640 width display, so it's probably a good idea to play it safe.

*sigh*

So, this week, we're trying something a little bit different. I've stripped out the word-wrap from the "Newsletter Converter Utility", and we'll see how both GoogleGroups and YahooGroups cope with plain unformatted crap!
If you see any flaws, find any quirks, or generally DISLIKE anything, let me know.

..I was hoping to completely overhaul the newsletter, but .. Been too busy making an awesome game

; Back to Blitz

Dither reappears after a teensy bit of a gap, and wonders if Blitz2D is still a usable programming language.
Sure is! Or at least, all my old games still work, anyway!

; BlastTrax

Jay digs deep into the code as he approaches the 300th game in his archive. A random set of instances have spawned a curious shoot-em-up, which has expanded over the course of a couple of weeks, to become a really nice game. Jay s decided that this would be great for the big 300, and is even preparing it for a same-day iOS release.
This has, of course, meant that he needs to get the thing ready a week ahead of schedule, which has the adverse side effect of meaning he needs to cram about three weeks worth of games into a ludicrously short amount of time.
As a result, he's been interacting a little bit less, on the forum, and focussing all his time and effort into two simultaneous projects.
.. You might notice this week's newsletter is a little bit lacklustre. This is entirely down to how crazy Jay's week's been.

Indiesphere
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Having been focused on BlastTrax all week, I've not really been keeping up with the Indiesphere, that much. I've searched my usual paces, but nothing new appears to have turned up, nor has anyone responded to my requests for "new stuff!" on Twitter.
Seems the entire Indiesphere is off having a break, this week.
Strange.

Meanwhile, on the "big business" side of things, Google and Microsoft are having a bit of a bitch-fight about MS's own-made YouTube app for Windows Mobile.
Obviously the Microsoft Blog version of events is going to be somewhat biased, but... It's certainly fun to read!!

; Humble? Bollocks!

Electronic Arts have the audacity to suggest that they're vaguely humbled, and not at all pure evil, by offering all proceeds of a recent EA-Specific Humble Bundle to charity.
Not quite sure if this makes me hate EA more, or less than usual.
Hmmmm....

; iOS 7 Issues

Jay vents his frustrations at the bad design ideology of iOS7, complaining about it's lack of "button"ness, and it's silly "webpage" stylings.
What are your opinions?
